Altrad NSG, which operates at sites across the UK, was awarded 5 Stars from the BSC following a comprehensive audit of its Occupational Health & Safety System.

As part of its audit, the BSC spent two days at Altrad NSG's Deeside headquarters and at its operations on the Tata Chemicals site in Northwich.

Howard Satchell, Altrad NSG Compliance Manager, said: "Every year the BSC raises the bar of expectation and to get into the 5-Star bracket these days you have to be performing well above normal expectations - both in terms of on-site health and safety and individual employees' personal health and well-being.

"We are therefore delighted that our high standards have once again been recognised."

Altrad NSG achieved an overall audited score of 93.23% and also achieved a cumulative score of 90.50% within the Safety Management Indicator areas, equating to a 5-Star rating.

Mr Satchell added: "Health and Safety is at the core of our business values and this award - alongside our eighth consecutive RoSPA Gold Award - demonstrates to clients and potential customers that we are a responsible and conscientious company that places health and safety as the top priority.

"We are continuing to invest in training across the workforce and have recently completed refresher Asbestos Awareness, Risk Assessment and Manual Handling training courses for the whole of the Altrad NSG workforce."

Altrad NSG works with a range of blue chip clients, providing scaffolding and rope access systems, insulation, painting, coatings, blasting and industrial cleaning. Core sectors include on and offshore oil and gas, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, power generation (including nuclear), steel production, shipbuilding, rail and civil infrastructure.
