Altrad NSG has secured a major contract with utilities giant Severn Trent Water.

The five-year deal will see Altrad NSG providing scaffolding and access as part of Severn Trent Water's Digester inspection and maintenance programme.

The digesters which are located at sites across England and Wales are cleaned, inspected and maintained as part programme to keep them in good working in working order. Altrad NSG has been chosen to install the scaffolding due to its technical expertise with system scaffolding and market-leading health and safety record.

Altrad NSG Commercial Director Rob Trotter said: "Altrad NSG is delighted to have won this contract to work alongside such a well-recognised company as Severn Trent Water. We will be providing a collaborative and partnership focused approach, working closely with Severn Trent Water to meet their project goals safely and on time.

"These units provide technical challenges due to their conical dome shape; however Severn Trent Water recognised our experience and expertise with projects similar to this, and particularly within the power generation and petrochemical sectors. We are excited about developing an on-going partnership with Severn Trent Water and look forward to exploring further potential projects within their portfolio."

Deeside-headquartered Altrad NSG is one of the UK's leading providers of scaffolding and industrial services focused on building, maintaining, overhauling and decommissioning the nation's infrastructure. The company provides a range of services including scaffolding and rope access, insulation, painting, coatings, blasting and industrial cleaning.

Rob Trotter added: "Altrad NSG is continually looking at opportunities for growth in a variety of industries such as utilities, off-shore and nuclear, and this further establishes our offering for clients in the utilities sector.

"As part of the France-based multi-national Altrad Group, we are also continuing to look at potential acquisitions in the UK which can help to grow our services and the sectors we operate within."

Severn Trent PLC is a FTSE100 company one and of the largest utility providers in the UK, supplying water and waste treatment services to more than 4.2million homes and businesses.
