Contract wins to create new Midlands jobs at Altrad MTD
Midlands scaffolding and access specialist Altrad MTD Ltd is to create a number of jobs in the region on the back of two new contract wins.
Altrad MTD has secured work with a national facilities management company, while Wolverhampton Homes, which manages and looks after more than 23,000 homes on behalf of Wolverhampton City Council, has been re-secured for a further three years.
The Oldbury-headquartered firm operates from depots across the UK, including Telford and Loughborough, with more than 140 employees.
The contract wins - worth £400,000 in total - will create up to 10 new jobs and will involve scaffolding and access for a mix of responsive repairs, planned maintenance and external wall installation works.
Altrad MTD has also secured preferred supplier status with affordable housing contractor, Wates Living Space, one of only two scaffolding and access providers to hold the status.
Tracey Hutton, managing director of Altrad MTD, said: "We have enjoyed strong growth across the business over the past 12 months and particularly in the Midlands through our depots in Oldbury, Telford and Loughborough.
"Our contract with the facilities management company will see MTD take on a number of new staff from the Midlands region.
"The three-year contract with Wolverhampton Homes was secured following a competitive tender process, during which we demonstrated our expertise within social housing, commitment to community partnerships and first class project management.
"We are also pleased to be creating more job opportunities within the Midlands."
Altrad MTD specialises in social housing and public sector projects and is a subsidiary of Altrad NSG, having been acquired in April 2012.
